Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is one of those stories that you think you’ve seen or read but can’t quite remember what it’s about. It turns out that I had never seen or read Little Women making it all the more remarkable that I was so moved by this production directed by Gerald Stollwitzer. (…) I assumed it would be a story of sisters (Jo, Meg, Beth, Amy), living on plains and making quilts! Not so, this fine show has everything, comedy, love, dancing, tragedy and then finally, more love! (…) Their love for each other was totally believable and at times you felt as if they were a real family (…) The opening scene had Jo, reading and acting out her story whilst the characters behind a gauze, mirrored her every move. Simple but very effective! (…) The scene when Beth died had me blubbering like a baby and I was not alone! (…) A truly wonderful evening, great cast, great songs, great show!
